Announcement by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Turkey regarding the State of Emergency in Turkey
State of emergency, which has been declared on 21 July 2016 for a 3-month period, is a package of measures aimed at increasing security in order to fight against the threat against the rights and freedoms of citizens. These measures do not involve any precautions which will restrict the basic rights and freedoms. Security measures will not have any affect on daily lives of Turkish citizens as well as the travels of our visitors and their vacations. There is not anyimpediment on international tourism movements and air traffic. This condition will not pose any obstacle for tourists to spend a safe vacation in Turkey.
